NPS Sailing Association (Monterey)
Come sail with us!
Sailing at NPSSA has a long history, and we are proud to be able to offer NPS and NSAM personnel the chance to get back out on the water with membership at only $50 per year. The Sailing Club is open to all active duty, DoD civilians, retirees and the spouses and/or family members of the aforementioned. Sailing Club membership is obtained through membership in the NPS Foundation (please email npssa.treasurer@gmail.com for a Sailing Club membership form).
The NPS Sailing Association provides sailing opportunities to the NPS and NSAM community with two Santana 22' sailboats available for rent at substantially lower rates than anywhere out in town. The boats are located at the Coast Guard pier in downtown Monterey, providing an incredible opportunity to get out and experience the beautiful Monterey Bay firsthand.

Services Offered
Group Sail Excursions
NPSSA also offers group sails which are led by an experienced skipper. These provide an excellent opportunity for sailors to brush up on their skills or for novices to experience sailing on Monterey Bay. Group sails cost $10 for NPSSA members or $25 for non-members. Contact npssa.groupsail@gmail.com for the next group sail opportunity.
Sailing Classes
NPSSA offers sailing classes throughout the year at a cost of $225 and students must be NPSSA members. Classes include three two-hour classroom session (offered in the evening) and three six hour sailing sessions (on the weekend). If you are an experienced sailor and want to join the club and rent a boat you will need to schedule a check sail with an Association skipper.
