NSA Monterey Child & Youth Programs – Youth Sports Program strives to instill the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and a sense of teamwork so that children, youth, and teens will become strong, healthy, well-adjusted, and contributing members of society. The YSF Program works in partnership with parents, volunteers, and community organizations to provide a full range of fitness and sports activities for children and youth ages 3 – 18 years.

 

BALLET CLASSES

Tuesdays • Ages 3-18
Ballet instructional classes taught by instructors from Carmel Academy of Performing Arts.  Enrollment is accepted monthly. Classes are 4 and 5-week sessions.  Contact the Tech Connection Teen & Youth Center a minimum 72 hours prior to the first class.  $50.00 for one-month session.

THE FIRST TEE GOLF - MILITARY AFFILIATE PROGRAM

Thursdays • Ages 7-17
Instructional Golf lessons taught by Certified First Tee Instructors.  Young people are introduced to the First Tee through Life Skills experience, a character education curriculum developed by experts in the field of positive youth development.  Program runs September 2017 – May 2018.  FREE!

Ages 7 – 10 at 3:45 PM Thursdays
Ages 11 – 17 at 4:30 PM Thursdays

Enrollment is on-going, based on space availability.

BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Ages 5-14
Practices and Games will be held at Fitness Center at Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey) and Porter Youth Center (Seaside).  $50.00 registration fee includes team jersey and sports medal. 

The 2017-18 Basketball Season has begun!  Registration has closed, late registration accepted on a space-available basis. 

2018-19 Season: Registration opens in October - November 2018.  Season runs December 2018 – March 2019.

Ages 5-14
Practices and Games will be held at the Tech Connection Baseball Field in La Mesa Village.  $50.00 registration fee includes team jersey and sports medal.  Registration opens in January – February 2018.  Season runs March – May 2018. 

SOCCER LEAGUE

Ages 5-14
Practices and Games will be held at soccer fields in La Mesa Village.  $50.00 registration fee includes team jersey and sports medal.  Registration opens in May – July 2018.  Season runs August – November 2018. 

CHEERLEADING CAMPS

July 2018 • Ages 5-18

One-week camp in Summer teaching the basics of Cheer, instructed by Carmel Academy of Performing Arts instructors.  Times and specifics to be determined.  Registration opens in June 2018.
 

FOOTBALL CAMPS

June 2018 • Ages 5-18

One-week camp in Summer teaching the basics of Flag-Football.  Times and specifics to be determined.  Registration opens in May 2018.


TEEN SPORTS CAMPS

Ages 13-18

Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball camps will be offered for Ages 13 – 18.  Times and specifics to be determined.  Contact the Tech Connection Teen & Youth Center for more information. 

START SMART SOCCER

Ages 3-5

Introduce your child to the game of Soccer in a fun, safe and pressure-free environment.  Parents spend quality time with their child while developing gross motor skills and basic sports skills. Registration begins August 2018, Program runs in September – October 2018.  FREE!                                                                                                                                                                                                    

START SMART BASEBALL

Ages 3-5

Introduce your child to the game of Baseball in a fun, safe and pressure-free environment.  Parents spend quality time with their child while developing gross motor skills and basic sports skills. Registration begins February 2018, Program runs in March – April 2018.  FREE!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers are at the heart of our Youth Sports Program.  Volunteers are always welcome and needed to coach sports teams, instruct camps or clinics, officiate games, and perform other duties to support our youth sports programs.  If you are interested in volunteering contact our Youth Sports Coordinator!  Volunteer coaches receive FREE CPR/First Aid Certification and National Youth Sports Association Coaches’ Certificates.  Contact us today to submit an application!
