Personal Financial Management Program
The Navy’s Personal Financial Management (PFM) program provides a structured, proactive approach to helping Sailors and families build financial readiness. Managing personal finances can be challenging, especially with rising living costs, predatory lending, high-pressure sales tactics, deceptive advertising, and the temptation to live beyond one’s means. The PFM program equips service members with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed, confident financial decisions.
The program offers education, training, information and referral, and individualized financial counseling. PFM emphasizes a career-long approach to financial responsibility by teaching the principles of sound money management, budgeting, saving, investing, and consumer awareness.
